Parasites to Parachutes

so many have fallen
to the boring and mundane
count me as one of the many
among the seas of throngs of people smiling gleefully
at nothing but propaganda
commercials and advertisements
telling us how to smile, to laugh,
to dance, and to dress
whom to love and to fuck
how to live and how not to die

how do i rebel
mace on the face all grins across of course
the generation is lost as a whole
but not as a singular
individuals swimming against the tide
shark bait we are
let them bite
let them smell the scent of fresh blood

little do they know
that once ingested
that is when we fully take over

we are parasites
to society at least
or how they look at us

no place in a world where your suppose to be part of the food chain
of bigger things, where you work to die, and die for others
so what part do i serve
where i am only self serving
with my single serving sentences
like condiments in convenient handy packets

"I mustard the courage to tell you to break free
and ketchup to me
come, and relish tomorrow"
well now that is just down right childish
an analogy appropriate as an appurtenance to adolescence
but thats what we are
parasites
from seed fast forward to adulthood
no chance of being an in between
we jump at opportunity as it arises
hook - line and sinker
rid of us, rinse and then repeat

parasite
parasight
for sight
foresight
that we are but the golden parachutes of this age
to make sure that the youth of today
do not grow old in vain.
