STOP MOVING

from the archives: originally written July 31st, 2008 for a friend

an analogy about self reflection
...through meditation

to not move is the hardest thing to do
be one with nature and your surroundings
to feel the wisdom flowing in through silent meditation
We human beings are programmed to be in a constant state of motion.
Breathing
Seeing and capturing everything with your eyes
Hearing the intricate sounds that bound us
Feeling everything that comes near us.
Our brains always analyzing the constant flow of information
Our hearts forever beating.
Though we are still "moving" per se, we are moving in the same speed as that of the world. This is the type of "non-movement" that I am talking about. No longer moving at our own leisurely or hectic pace. One with the worlds rotational force to be one with the earth, move at the same speed as everything around you that it almost seems like you are not moving.
Like a dead log in a forest we are only part of the same cycle of life and death,
We are so scared not to move in fear that we are not progressing
that something, someone will catch up to us
that we will be forgotten...

Though just like death, there is an eventual rebirth, and the finding, of new wisdom is the rebirth that we often forget to notice. Fail to notice that we do not even know that new wisdom is there. That this new wisdom that we need to discover on our own, will free us of the boundaries that limit our human minds from appreciating all that is around us.

Though I have to admit that sometimes with self reflection, the hardest thing not to do is to relate all that you feel with your past experiences. I mean self reflection is half introspection as well as the discovery of new things about you.
That mental cage that bounds you, your experiences and current wisdom, can be incapacitating at times. One cannot fully write it off though, for if you do not truly know one's self, then how do you expect to soak up everything else?

Sometimes I forget to just look at the bright side of things, meaning the new wisdom that is right there for the taking. Sure you will not recognize it at first glance, but once you do, the understanding of such thoughts will take you to places where you have never been before. This is why self reflection is both necessary and healthy. You are not bound to all that is you, for in the end, you are one with the world, it just takes a mental shift, whether it be conscious or unconscious, the results that one can get are extraordinarily uplifting.

Just like how the wisdom of the world is a collective of our own self knowledge
our self knowledge is born through the wisdom that is already found in this earth, whether it be physical or spiritual.
Sometimes we just have to stop and observe
Smell the flowers per se'
A new world is there for everybody to behold...
