Black Eyes / White Knuckles

the neighborhood has gone bad,
I'm sure of it
somewhere something went wrong
and now his face wears signs of the crime wave
it speaks in hushed tones
"i will destroy..."

a malevolent force
all but reduced to a blemish
now tender to the the touch

a malformity
a discoloration
black and blue hue where it does not belong
hence it sticks out
juts out like a nail
waiting for the hammering
only that this time came the chaotic first
then only do the obvious take place

a perception construed
gasps, oohs and aahs,
silent thoughts dared not spoken
cause it may happen to them too

an act of violence
worn like a badge of honor
and they respect out of fear
they walk the same aisle,
yet thread it as if the carpet were eggshells

they avoid its impossible gaze
they will not mention of it
it is the unspeakable

...clearly, its a shiner
